Fatal shooting in Southeast D.C. leads to barricade

A man was fatally shot in Southeast D.C. early this morning, police said, and a barricade is ongoing in the area of a residence where the suspect is believed to be.

The homicide occurred about 1:55 a.m. in the 1700 block of 17th Street SE. The victim was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead, D.C. police said.

The suspect is believed to be in the residence on 17th Street, police said, and authorities have barricaded the area.

Police issued a lookout for a black male with dreadlocks.
