An Oxon Hill church was heavily damaged during a two-alarm fire Tuesday.

Prince George's County firefighters responded to the fire at First Wesleyan Church of Oxon Hill about 7:30 a.m.

The fire caused about $100,000 in damage. No one was injured.

Officials said there was a late-night service at the church on New Year's Eve, but the service ended early because the neighborhood experienced a loss of power. Church members left the building before power was restored.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation, with federal law enforcement examining it because the fire was at a house of worship. - Scott McCabe
