NEW YORK (AP) — Calgary Flames defenseman Mark Giordano has been fined $10,000 by the NHL for slew-footing Dallas Stars forward Antoine Roussel.

The incident occurred at 11:53 of the second period of Calgary's 4-3 win over the Stars on Sunday.

Giordano was assessed a minor penalty for tripping.

The fine is the maximum allowed under the collective bargaining agreement.
