RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum is scheduled to visit North Carolina to campaign on behalf of the man he challenged for the Republican presidential nomination.

A release from the Mitt Romney campaign says Santorum is slated to make three stops on Thursday. The first of the three stops is for a rally in downtown Charlotte scheduled for 7:30 a.m.

Santorum also is set to attend rallies at Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory and at a GOP office in Gastonia.
