NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — A former purser aboard a Military Sealift Command ship has been convicted of embezzlement.

Ismael Cuario Estrada was convicted by a federal jury on Monday after a four-day trial.

Court records say Estrada was a crewman on the USNS Arctic from 2006 until 2013.

Prosecutors say Estrada had access to the ship's safe and took more than $350,000 from it.

He faces a maximum penalty of ten years in prison a fine of $250,000 when he is sentenced on June 25.
