A man has been shot during a robbery at his Fort Washington home, police said.

About 2:20 a.m. Tuesday, two people forced their way into home in the 9100 block of Loughran Road and demanded property. The victim was then shot during a confrontation with the robbers, police said.

The robbers fled the scene, taking an undetermined amount of money and jewelry. A description of them was not immediately available.

The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries and has since been released, police said. A woman and teenage girl were also in the home at the time, but they were not injured.

Police believe that the victim's home was targeted.
