Six people, including four children, were taken to the hospital after a collision involving a Montgomery County Public Schools bus, officials said.

About 8:30 a.m. Monday, emergency personnel were called to Great Falls Road and Maryland Avenue in Rockville. The crash involved a bus that was en route to Ritchie Park Elementary School in Rockville and at least one other vehicle.

One child who was on the bus was taken to a hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. Three other children were taken to a hospital for evaluation, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokeswoman Beth Anne Nesselt said. Two adults were also taken to a hospital for evaluation.

The rest of the students on the bus were taken to school by another vehicle, Montgomery County Public Schools spokesman Dana Tofig said.
