What was supposed to be a Fox and Friends interview with a young Obama supporter who changed his mind to vote for Mitt Romney, turned into a bizarre interview as Gretchen Carlson dubbed the guest “not ready for prime time.”

“Hello, Miss USA, its an honor,” the guest Max Rice said, after he was brought onscreen. “I wish I could see you.”

“Miss America actually,” Carlson corrected.

“Miss Universe in my book,” Rice responded.

Rice explained that he lost a basketball game to “Alex Durant, a huge supporter of the show,” and lived with his parents out of college and is currently unemployed.

“I’m living on my own now, I’m independent, I’m on national TV, I feel like I’m doing good. It’s an honor.” Rice said before Carlson cut the interview short.

*Update* Fox News staff investigating this morning’s incident on Fox and Friends

“We are still examining the situation, but it will be addressed with the appropriate parties involved,” Bill Shine, Executive Vice President of Programming FOX News said in a statement to the Washington Examiner.
