Fox News will work to bridge the gap between Latinos and the Republican Party, CEO Roger Ailes indicated in an interview in which he faulted President Obama for dividing Americans.

“The president likes to divide people into groups,” Ailes told The New Republic. “He’s too busy getting the middle class to hate rich people, blacks to hate whites. He is busy trying to get everybody to hate each other.”

To counter those tactics, conservatives need to reach out to Latinos — and Ailes indicated that Fox plans to help with that effort.

“If I’m going to risk my life to run over the fence to get into America, I want to win” he said. I think Fox News will articulate that.” Ailes added, “I don’t have any problem with a path to citizenship.”
