ATLANTA (AP) -- Jim Furyk, the only American on the Ryder Cup team without a win this year, now has another chance to change that.

Furyk made 3 on his opening seven holes Friday at East Lake and had a 6-under 64 to take a one-shot lead over Justin Rose in the Tour Championship. For all the 3s on his card, he was disappointed to not make one on the par-3 18th, where he missed a 5-foot par putt.

Rose played in the final group with Tiger Woods and birdied the last hole for a 68.

Woods had his worst score at East Lake in 14 years. He made four bogeys on the back nine for a 73, leaving him six shots behind.
