LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (AP) — Administrators from two metro Atlanta colleges are set to brief health care, business and education leaders on a partnership aimed at creating jobs in the health information technology field.

Officials from Gwinnett Technical College and Georgia Tech are set to discuss details of a health information technology partnership Monday afternoon at Gwinnett Technical College.

Dana Urrutia, Gwinnett Tech spokeswoman, says the school will also officially launch its one-year health information technology certificate program Monday and courses for the program will begin March 4.

Urrutia says the program offers tuition assistance for veterans, the underemployed and the unemployed to support workforce development.
