Mitt Romney's secretly-recorded fundraising speech in which he said the 47% of people who would vote for Obama under any circumstances were dependent on the government and wanted to keep it that way was seen as a major gaffe. Much like Barack Obama's 2008 fundraising speech in which he said working class white voters were clinging to their guns and God. Gaffes like these get a lot of attention but do they matter?
