Without any clear reason, a moth became rampant and spread through much of Europe about a decade ago. In Britain, it first surfaced in Wimbledon in 2002 and soon spread across England and Wales. Look at the annual distribution maps since, and they could come straight out of a movie about the outbreak of a scary virus.
