Trump: Fake News is ‘distorting democracy’

.

President Trump started off his day by ripping the media for covering his son’s meeting with a Russian lawyer, before which he was promised incriminating information on Hillary Clinton provided by the Russian government.

Despite the fact that Donald Trump Jr. tweeted out an email showing the offer was true, Trump said the media is making up its reporting and harming the country.

“With all of its phony unnamed sources & highly slanted & even fraudulent reporting, #Fake News is DISTORTING DEMOCRACY in our country!” he said.

He compared the coverage of the eldest Trump’s son’s meeting to Clinton’s email scandal during the 2016 election and accused the press of not covering that issue enough.

“HillaryClinton can illegally get the questions to the Debate & delete 33,000 emails but my son Don is being scorned by the Fake News Media?” he tweeted.

He then thanked a campaign adviser, Michael Caputo, for saying in an interview that Russia did not collude with the Trump campaign during the election.

“Thank you to former campaign adviser Michael Caputo for saying so powerfully that there was no Russian collusion in our winning campaign,” Trump tweeted.

Trump also thanked people who came out to see the U.S. Women’s Open at his New Jersey golf course on Saturday, which he attended.

“Thank you to all of the supporters, who far out-numbered the protesters, yesterday at the Women’s U.S. Open. Very cool!” Trump tweeted.
