Gangs in the hoco? Say it ain't so!

Well, I can't speak to it, but winner of the-least-sexy-organization-of-the-hoco, the Association of Community Services, can, and they're offering such insights at their event titled, "Gangs and Youth Violence in Howard County." Says them, "Discover what gangs are active in our county, what types of crime are involved, and where the 'hot spots' are located. Learn about the programs and services that have been designed to prevent and address this problem." Speakers include Lieutenant Jim Marshall, Youth Services Coordinator, Howard County Police Department and Sergeant Dave Trapani, Gang and Intel Supervisor, Howard County Police Department.

The event is for ACShoco's general members, but is open to the public (that means you). Deets: Wednesday, November 17, 2010 from 12:00 noon - 1:30 pm at the Owen Brown Interfaith Center, 7246 Cradlerock Way, Columbia, MD, 21045. Free, or a whopping $7 if you order lunch. Registration required.
