Girl struck by vehicle in Northwest D.C.

A 4-year-old girl was struck by a minivan in Northwest D.C. on Thursday morning, officials said.

The incident took place at about 8:20 a.m. at 14th and Madison streets NW. The young pedestrian was conscious and breathing and was taken to a hospital, according to D.C. police spokeswoman Saray Leon.

The driver of the striking vehicle stayed at the scene.
