Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., is the latest Republican calling on Todd Akin to step down as a U.S. Senate candidate in Missouri after his comments about rape:

“Todd Akin’s statements are reprehensible and inexcusable. Gaining a Republican majority in the US Senate and fixing the huge challenges that face our nation is more important than any one individual's political ambitions.   Todd Akin should do the right thing for the nation and step aside today, so Missouri Republicans can put forth a candidate that can win in November.”

It was one thing when  Republican Sen. Scott Brown, up for reelection in a liberal state against a female opponent, called on Todd Akin to step down. But Johnson isn't up for reelection until 2014. This will make it a lot harder for Akin to hang on, especially if more Republicans follow.
