< p>ROCHESTER, Mich. (AP) — GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney's running mate Paul Ryan plans a day of campaigning in Michigan.

The Romney campaign says Ryan will attend a rally Monday evening at Oakland University in Rochester. Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. event at the university's athletic center can be obtained online or picked up Monday at campaign offices in Royal Oak, Lake Orion, Bloomfield Hills and Utica.

Earlier in the day, Ryan is expected to participate in a round-table discussion at Detroit's Cornerstone Schools. He plans a tour with Clark Durant, the charter school foundation director who unsuccessfully sought to be the Republican challenger for U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow's seat next month.

Ryan also is scheduled to attend a late afternoon private fundraiser in Pontiac.
