D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray, who has said he wants to make economic development the integral component of his legacy, will visit Austin, Texas this weekend for the South by Southwest event.
His schedule includes participation in what's billed as a "D.C. tech meetup" and a dinner to press the city's case as a technology hub. He'll also meet with the mayor of Austin.
The trip is not Gray's first out-of-town effort to appeal to potential investors. He visited China last year, and he announced plans in February to travel to Qatar.
Gray will return to Washington on Sunday.
