Group of six men attacks two others in Brightwood

A group of six men attacked two other men in the Brightwood neighborhood of northwest D.C. early Saturday morning, according to police.

The two men were walking on the 5400 block of Georgia Avenue NW around 2:35 a.m. when a group of six men approached, pushed them, and then stabbed one man several times and struck the other with a stick.

The group also stole a wallet and cell phone from the men, according to police.

The injured man was taken to a local hospital. The other victim had minor injuries and refused medical attention, police said.

The victims described all six men as black. One was about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, with a light complexion, wearing a black and white shirt and jeans. Another was about 5 feet, 8 inches tall, with a light complexion, wearing a black shirt and jeans. Police had no descriptions for the other four men.
