Vice President-elect Pence traveled to New York City on Tuesday to help President-elect Trump whittle down his list of contenders for Cabinet positions and White House appointments.
Pence took over as head of Trump’s transition team last week, and Trump’s team has implied that such a meeting would mean they are close to deciding who they want in key posts.
“If the vice president-elect is getting together with the president-elect to discuss names, then I would say that it’s serious, obviously,” spokesman Jason Miller told reporters Monday in Trump Tower.
“They’ll be reviewing a number of names. There has been a lot of work put in by both the vice president-elect and a number of members of the transition team,” Miller said. “I don’t want to put a finite timetable. Obviously, inauguration day is not getting further away. And people need to get going. This is an absolute top priority understood by the president-elect and the vice president-elect.”
Pence did not respond to shouted questions Tuesday morning as he boarded an elevator in Trump Tower.
