ATLANTA (AP) — Georgia State University is set to host a forum showcasing research and innovation in the state's university system.
University System of Georgia Chancellor Hank Huckaby and Georgia Department of Economic Development Commissioner Chris Cummiskey are set to address participants at the event Monday.
Two panel discussions are also planned, titled: "How do our research universities impact the economy in rural Georgia?" and "Creating new industries in Georgia."
The day will conclude with a reception and exhibits showcasing examples of current and ongoing research at Georgia Health Sciences University, Georgia State University, Georgia Institute of Technology, and the University of Georgia.
The forum is meant to highlight the research and commercialization at the university system's four research universities. It also aims to spur conversation about future plans.
