Thursday's five hour temporary truce in fighting between Israel and Hamas, brokered by the U.N., appears to be over. Gaza residents took advantage of the cease-fire, flocking to banks and other shops after enduring ten days of Israeli attacks. (July 17)

OFFICIALS SAY THE CROSS-BORDER FIGHTING HAS SO FAR KILLED MORE THAN 230 PALESTINIANS AND one ISRAELI.

THE ISRAELI MILITARY SAYS IT FOILED AN ATTACK BY 13 MILITANTS WHO tried to sneak INTO ISRAEL THROUGH A TUNNEL FROM GAZA.

WERE KILLED IN AN AIR STRIKE THE DAY BEFORE.
