The once and future Han Solo was in the District for several days this week.

Harrison Ford urged Congress to spend money on air traffic controllers Tuesday when he spoke to the House General Aviation Caucus, and on international conservation programs at a Council on Foreign relations panel Wednesday.

Asked why he would sit down with a group of academics rather than make another action movie, Ford joked: "Stupid, I guess."

Ford explained he got involved with Conservation International 20 years ago when he had "an unfortunate excess of capital."

"Fortunately, it's not a problem anymore," he added with his iconic grin.

"I saw this group that could have great effect on the world and make the world a better place," he added. "The treat of my life is to be in a room with people like this."
