Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid aims to keep his seat in 2016. When asked by a Nevada reporter if he will run for a sixth term, Reid said, “Sure, why not?”

Reid didn’t comment on who might run against him. The Reno Gazette-Journal asked whether he thought he could beat Gov. Brian Sandoval, who some say would be a likely Republican contender. But Reid demurred.

“Hey, I don’t get involved in fights I don’t have to,” Reid, a former boxer, told the paper.

Reid has been in the Senate since 1986.
