Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is a huge sports fan, a one-time boxer who loves to dish accolades about fellow Nevadan Bryce Harper, the kid star of the Washington Nationals.

But he has a problem. The papers he opens first for his morning sports fix have sucky sports pages. Or so he declared that today on the Senate floor.

Said Reid: "Every morning I get up, the first thing I read is the sports page. I'm disappointed in the sports page in 'The Washington Post,' it's not nearly as good as it used to be. And the 'New York Times' is not good either. But I read them. There's always some good news on the sports page. Then I go to the front page and get some of the bad news."
