MIAMI (AP) — The Miami Heat did not take an easy path to the NBA championship.
They trailed Indiana in the second round, Boston in the Eastern Conference finals and then Oklahoma City in the NBA Finals. And whenever the Heat fell behind in those series, they somehow managed to get rolling.
The Heat won three in a row to close out Indiana after falling behind 2-1. They won two straight to oust Boston after getting into a 3-2 hole. And in the title round, the Heat lost the opener to the Thunder before wrapping up a championship with four consecutive victories, the last of those being a 121-106 decision Thursday night.
Heat guard Dwyane Wade says winning this title was "the hardest thing we've ever done."
