High above the tiny floor

I’m writing from a press seat high above the tiny floor. Very high above, about 60 or 70 feet by my estimate. The speaker (currently Cory Booker) is a small figure far below. From here I can see that there are about 600 seats on the actual floor, and I can make out (barely) the standards of Delaware, Illinois, Colorado and Virginia. Other delegates are in spectator seats, separated from the actual floor by railings with occasional entrances. Alternates are up here at the press level. Anyone with acrophobia should not sit in the front row.

I can’t remember a convention where the speakers and the delegates were so remote from the press.

UPDATE: I now see the standards for North Carolina and Nevada on the tiny floor, plus a standard I can’t make out at this distance.
