JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — Alaskans might want to keep their eyes on the sky this weekend

A burst of energy emitted from the sun on Thursday is expected to hit the earth starting Friday, which means there is a strong chance that Alaskans will be able to see the aurora borealis during the night if skies are clear enough.

The Geophysical Institute at the University of Alaska Fairbanks has indicated that there will be auroral activity will be "high" on Friday and Saturday evenings, and "active" on Sunday night.
