Hillary Rodham Clinton says in her upcoming book that she wrote about her experiences as secretary of State to help people understand that the United States “still has what it takes to lead.” In the author’s note to Hard Choices, which comes out June 10, Clinton explained why she chose to detail her grueling four years as the nation’s top diplomat, saying according to Politico, “While my views and experiences will surely be scrutinized by followers of Washington’s long-running soap-opera ... I didn’t write this book for them, I wrote it for Americans and people everywhere who are trying to make sense of this rapidly changing world of ours, who want to understand how leaders and nations can work together and why they sometimes collide, and how their decisions affect all our lives.”
