RENO, Nev. (AP) — A historic Reno mansion is up for sale for $20.4 million.
The 17,964-square-foot Nixon Mansion, built in 1907 for U.S. Sen. George Nixon, went on the market earlier this month.
The three-story mansion overlooking the Truckee River features eight bedrooms, nine fireplaces, a wine cellar and tasting area, game and sun rooms, a library and a ballroom.
Realtor Sandi Solomonson told the Reno Gazette-Journal (http://on.rgj.com/1nkvhGz ) that owners Harry and Carla Hart made an effort to preserve many of the mansion's original features after a 1979 fire.
The Nixon mansion is not the only high-end property up for sale in the Reno-Lake Tahoe area.
At Tahoe, a house in Glenbrook is being offered for $28.5 million and a home in Incline Village is being listed at $28 million.
