Historical political satire hits the Phillips

The Phillips Collection gets all political on us with a new exhibit of political cartoons. From now through the presidential inauguration in January, works by Honore Daumier and Patrick Oliphant will be on display. Daumier's claim to fame? His lampooning of King Louis-Philippe was so effective, the artist was charged with sedition and spent six months in jail in 1832.
