This History channel has sent out a statement decrying the connection fueled by the Internet that the ‘Satan’ Character on their biblical series looks like President Obama.

“History channel has the highest respect for President Obama,” the statement read, calling the “false connection” an “unfortunate” one.

According to IMDB, Ouazzani has starred in multiple faith based television projects, including “The Satanic Angels,” “The Ten Commandments,” “Jeremiah,” and “David.”

“This is utter nonsense,” the series producer Mark Burnett insisted, adding that the actor was a “highly acclaimed Moroccan actor” who had previously played Satanic characters “long before Barack Obama was elected as our President.”

“Both Mark and I have nothing but respect and love for our President, who is a fellow Christian,” added executive producer Roma Downey.
