'Hobbit' breaks December box office records

$84.7 million: Amount of money brought in over the weekend by "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey." The film set a record for an opening weekend in the month of December. "Rise of the Guardians," "Lincoln," "Skyfall" and "Life of Pi" rounded out the top five at the box office.
