LOCKPORT, La. (AP) — Hornbeck Offshore Services has awarded Bollinger Shipyards Inc. with a contract to convert six offshore supply vessels from one class to another.

Hornbeck announced the conversion program last month, saying they would implement a retrofit program to stretch and upgrade six 200 class DP-1 offshore supply vessels into 240 class DP-2 OSVs.

The designated vessels are six of Hornbeck's 10 Super 200 class DP-1 units.

Bollinger executive vice president Ben Bordelon said Wednesday that in order to meet the delivery schedule required, the company will conduct the conversions at two of its facilities — in Larose and Morgan City.
