House approves financial aid package for Ukrainian government

In a rare showing of bipartisanship, the House passed a $1 billion financial aid package that would provide loan guarantees to the Ukrainian government. President Obama on Thursday called on Congress to pass legislation that would “provide American assistance for the Ukrainian government so that they can weather this storm and stabilize their economy.” The bill passed by a vote of 385-23.
