A delegation of House members will attend the funeral this week of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, and they will fly commercial, House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, announced Monday morning.
Boehner said Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., will lead a delegation that includes Reps. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., and George Holding, R-N.C.
“Margaret Thatcher was one of the greatest champions freedom has ever known, and her funeral gives Americans and friends around the world an opportunity to pay final respects,” Boehner said. “I’m pleased that Congressman Blackburn will lead a House delegation to Baroness Thatcher’s funeral to communicate our prayers and condolences to her family and the British people.”
Boehner said no military flight will be provided for the lawmakers because such a service was suspended under the sequester that requires an $85 billion reduction in federal spending this year.

Thatcher died on April 8.
