It seems pizza crosses political divides: About 40 House freshmen gathered to eat at "We the Pizza" on Capitol Hill on Wednesday night. The event -- organized by Reps. Luke Messer, R-Ind., and Matt Cartwright, D-Pa., the freshman class presidents -- was designed to let the new members get to know each other in an informal setting. About half the class attended.
"The symbolism of going to a restaurant named 'We the Pizza' was not lost on us," Messer told Yeas & Nays. "In the end, we were sent here to represent 'we the people' much more than any political party, and that is what this event was about."
