Huckabee attacks Joe Biden for being miserly

Former Gov. Mike Huckabee, R-Ark., argued that Vice President Joe Biden is a miser who is only generous with other people’s money, based on his lack of charitable giving.

“Joe Biden’s budget shows that while he wants to be generous with your money through higher taxes and government spending, for years he gave less than two-tenths of 1 percent of his money to charity,” Huckabee said this evening at the Republican National Convention. “He just wants you to give the government more so he and the Democrats can feel better about themselves.”

President Obama, who picked Biden as his vice president, attacked Romney for heartlessness today. ” He calls my health care law Obamacare; I call his plan ‘Romney Doesn’t Care,’” Obama said in Charlottesville. “He’s running on the ‘Romney Doesn’t Care’ platform.”

Huckabee responded to that type of argument today, without naming the president. “Mitt Romney has given over 16% of his income to his church and charity, and I’d feel better about having a leader who gives more of his own money instead of mine,” he said.
