LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Hundreds of students from more than three dozen Kentucky schools will be at the University of Louisville on Tuesday to compete in a technology showcase.

More than 500 students from preschool through high school are expected for the event. U of L is one of several locations for Student Technology Leadership Program regional showcases each year.

Winners advance to state competitions.

The students will explain the projects to judges, other students and educators to show how they are using technology to solve problems, serve their communities and boost learning skills.

The program is an initiative of the Kentucky Department of Education. For more information, visit http://education.ky.gov/districts/tech/stlp/pages/stlp---what-is-stlp.aspx .
