A runner was rescued from the Metro tracks by her husband after apparently falling in after a Saturday marathon, according to Metro.

The woman lost her balance at L’Enfant Plaza station from apparent heat exhaustion around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, according to Metro spokeswoman Caroline Lukas. Her husband was able to pull her back onto the platform before a train passed through.

The woman was taken to Georgetown University Hospital, Lukas said.

Runners in the SunTrust Rock 'n' Roll USA Marathon faced unusually warm weather in the 26.2-mile and 13.1-mile races as temperatures climbed into the 70s.

The woman was the latest person to accidentally fall into the tracks  — but get rescued. In December, riders rescued a fellow rider in a wheelchair who fell into the tracks at Potomac Avenue.

Some however, have not been so lucky. In the past three years, at least three people have been killed after apparently accidentally falling onto the system's tracks.
