The owners of the Plaza of the Americas on Thursday announced plans to replace the rink with an indoor park.
M-M Properties last December paid about $100 million for the Plaza of the Americas in partnership with Invesco Real Estate. CEO Kenneth Moczulski says the park will be great for the entire development.
The Dallas Morning News (http://dallasne.ws/YaBQSk ) reports the floor of the atrium, now covered by the little-used ice rink and acres of green tile, will get olive trees, tall bamboo, dining areas and retail pavilions. The project is expected to be finished by spring.
The complex includes two 25-story office towers and a 1,000-car parking garage.
