I’m closest to an economist I’ve never heard of

The estimable economic blogger Megan McArdle links to a website that will tell you, after you’ve responded to 105 (!) economics questions, which famous economist you are most similar to. I took the test, trudging through all the questions though it will rate you on fewer responses, and found that I am most similar to Pete Klenow, professor of economics at Stanford. Klenow’s personal website shows that he has written on a wide variety of very interesting subjects. I’m sure (and not just because his views are evidently pretty close to mine) that he’s a very smart guy.

But, such is my comparative ignorance of economics and academic economists, I can’t recall ever having heard of him. I think I’ll wander back to his website and look at a few of his articles.
