LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) — The IOC is switching gears from Mercedes to Audi.

The International Olympic Committee says it has signed a four-year deal with Audi as its new automobile supplier.

Audi replaces another German manufacturer, Daimler-Benz, which had been the IOC's supplier since 1991.

Financial terms of the deal, which runs through the end of 2016, were not announced.

Under the deal, Audi will provide more than 40 vehicles to IOC headquarters in Lausanne and various international IOC events.

Audi is part of the Volkswagen Group, which was the official vehicle sponsor of the 2008 Beijing Olympics and holds the same role for the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Russia. BMW was a sponsor of the London Olympics.
