SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) — The Natural Resources Conservation Service and Caddo Soil and Water Conservation District have scheduled an irrigation efficiency workshop for Feb. 12 in Shreveport.

The 9 a.m.-to-4 p.m. workshop is free, and lunch will be provided. It will be at the Caddo Extension Service Office, 2408 E. 70th St.

The agency says farmers will learn how to monitor efficiency of their irrigation system, plan for more efficient irrigation, conserve energy and recover surface runoff. They'll also get a briefing on the Red Bayou Irrigation Project.

To register or learn more about the workshop, call or e-mail Joy Knotts, Caddo Soil and Water Conservation District, at 318-676-3461, Ext. 3, or joy.knotts(at)la.nacdnet.net.
