As the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas holds for a third day and peace negotiations continue, both sides appear to be digging in their heels. Hamas demands the blockade be lifted, while Israel insists Hamas disarm first. (Aug. 7)

THOUSANDS OF PALESTINIANS TOOK TO THE STREETS IN A PRO-HAMAS RALLY, THURSDAY... THE FIRST GATHERING OF HAMAS ACTIVISTS SINCE THE WAR BEGAN IN GAZA A MONTH AGO.

AS THEY MARCHED AMID THE RUBBLE OF DESTROYED NEIGHBORHOODS, ISRAELI TANKS SAT PARKED AT THE ISRAEL-GAZA BORDER.

STILL, THE 72-HOUR CEASEFIRE THAT ENDED A MONTH OF fighting HELD, WHILE NEGOTIATIONS ON A LONG-TERM TRUCE CONTINUED IN CAIRO.
