Motorcyclist killed in collision with car

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (AP) — Howard County Police say a motorcyclist was killed when his vehicle crashed with a car in Ellicott City.

It happened about 11:15 a.m. Tuesday on Route 40. Police say an officer saw the motorcyclist speeding in the westbound lanes. Authorities say the officer activated his emergency equipment and tried to stop the vehicle, but stopped following it to avoid a high-speed pursuit.
