CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Spotted Monday hanging out with a New Belgian Ranger IPA beer in hand, comedian and "Daily Show" host Jon Stewart was at a Labor Day barbecue honoring veterans and wounded warriors. At the event, we hear he was thanked for all the behind-the-scenes work he's done at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and at military bases overseas. In the past, Stewart played coy about his volunteering. "I actually have a life outside of television, where we don't have cameras and you actually just do things," he told Yeas & Nays last year, when he was in town for a Bob Woodruff Foundation gala.

Also spotted in Charlotte Monday: "Daily Show" correspondents John Oliver and Jason Jones, dressed very professionally, wandering around CarolinaFest 2012, the Labor Day street fair just a few blocks away from the conventions sites. We caught the comedy duo watching a group of folks singing an ode to homosexuals.
