Veteran journalist Bob Woodward was interviewed this morning by Mike Allen about his reporting behind President Obama’s presidency.
During the conversation, Allen suggested that perhaps Woodward was “disappointed” in the Obama presidency.
“I wouldn’t say disappointed,” Woodward said immediately. “It goes to the question of what’s our job in the news media and our job is not to be cheerleaders.”
Woodward noted that the job was to be an “irritant” of people in power by “asking and raising questions.”
“That’s the job.” he concluded.
