Journalist, professor to speak at UNL ceremonies

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — A political journalist and animal science professor are among the fall commencement speakers scheduled at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Jeff Zeleny, the national political correspondent for the New York Times, will address the undergraduate ceremony on Dec. 15 at the Bob Devaney Sports Center. Chris Calkins, professor of animal science at UNL, will give the address at the graduate ceremony on Friday, also at the Devaney Center.

Judge Michael W. Pirtle of the Nebraska Court of Appeals will address the law commencement on Friday at Hamann Auditorium in Ross McCollum Hall on the East Campus.

Nearly 1,500 graduates will receive undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln over the two days of commencement exercises.
